Biography of Constantine Brancusi
Constantine Brancusi is a Romanian sculptor. Biography Brancusi considered as one of the foremost modern creators.
In 1904 he went to Paris. Because of the radical, economical style, his abstract works “The Kiss”, “Sleeping Muse”, a portrait of Miss Pogani were the object of great controversy. Brancusi has changed his technique from modeling to carving.
In 1927, in the biography of Constantine Brancusi, the case against the US authorities was won. When he tried to introduce his sculptures into the territory of the United States for the exhibition, some works during the passage of customs control were called “metal objects”. For not recognizing his creations works of art Brancusi filed a lawsuit in court, and then won the case.
All works in the biography of Constantine Brancusi are marked by a significant simplification of forms, an organic, often symbolic character. Sculptor extremely selectively selected and treated with materials. He worked mostly with metal, stone, wood. “Bird in Space” is a typical work for Brancusi. Other sculptures are exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum, Chicago, Cleveland, Philadelphia Museums.
