Once on the control

Mathematics is given to me with difficulty. Dad laughs and says that we have hereditary. Nevertheless, he became an engineer – as they say, skill and work will all peretrut.

I tried to solve the problems myself, but no, no, and I wrote it off from my neighbor in Petka’s desk. Before classes, I took from him a notebook on algebra or geometry, walked to the window sill in the corridor and copied homework.

On the control, I realized that half of the tasks I will not do. The teacher warned us that the tasks are not easy, but those who faithfully perform homework, will cope with them.

I did not notice how the lesson flew, and the bell, ringing so suddenly, reminded me that I had to give the job. And there are no three tasks in it. What to do? I decided: I was not! Instead of a notebook for testing, I handed over to my teacher a workbook. I decided this way: I’ll say that I accidentally mistook it, and then I’ll hand the notebook to the teacher

with today’s control. While the court is on the point, I will have time to finish the control with the help of Petka.

No sooner said than done. After classes, I looked into the mathematics room. The teacher was not there, the attendants cleaned the classroom, and on the table lay a stack of notebooks with our control. I quickly changed the notebook.

In the next lesson, the mathematician announced the results of the control. What was the surprise of the guys when they found out that I had the highest score among the few students. The guys were already aware of my trick. As they say, the ground rumors are full of rumors. They looked at me with mocking glances.

And suddenly I felt ashamed. “Nothing,” I thought, “now I’m going to surprise you.” I got up from my seat. “Are you Dima?” the mathematician was surprised. And then I laid the whole truth in one spirit. There was silence in the classroom. The guys no longer smiled, and it did not matter to me. I respected myself. I realized that I am ready to answer for my actions.
