How morality regulates relations between people
The influence of morality on the relationship between people can be compared to the old clock on the tower: a pendulum, moved from its place, sets in motion a large wheel that, while slowly rotating, makes the smaller ones move with the arrows attached to them. The pendulum is the prescription of morality, and the wheels are the mind and the heart. Aroused by morality, they force each of us to evaluate actions and words, approve or condemn them. Therefore, we argue: “Petya did well, because he was fair and honest, but Sasha’s act is not worthy of respect, because the boy said untruth.” Our behavior is influenced by norms and values, which we perceive as patterns. By approving or condemning, morality is a command, an impulse, how one should act or think that a person is a Man. That is why moral attitudes have the form of incentives: “Honor your father and mother!”, “Love your neighbor as yourself!”, “Do not do to others what you do not want!” Thus, morality makes it possible to correlate our real actions with exemplary ones. The most important feature of morality is that it encourages each of us to evaluate actions, choose between good and evil.
