“What is mutual help” essay

Mutual assistance is mutual, mutual assistance, support, revenue in any matter. Each of us can be in a situation where he needs help, when he can not cope with his problems. At such moments it is very important that there is a person who will extend a helping hand. This is the way of peace. Mutual assistance should not be reduced to a relationship based on the principle “you – me, I – you”. One person can help another, another – the third. So, along the chain, good will necessarily return to the one who did something good, who rescued someone from the trouble.

The text of Yu. V. Trifonov tells of a boy who understood mutual assistance as a mutual benefit. He drove free boys to the cinema where his mother worked, but he did not drive everyone, but only

those whom he was profitable, from whom he was waiting for something in return. This behavior can not be considered correct. Good should be selfless.

In life, fortunately, there are examples of true mutual assistance. Once in the store near the cash register I saw a box with a small thing on which it was written: “If it’s not a pity, then add, if not enough, then take it.” And people with a smile dropped coins there. This, of course, is a trifle, but it reflects the very essence of mutual assistance: you helped someone, and someone will help you.

Thus, mutual assistance is based on the person’s willingness to do good, to help and support, in compassion and mercy.

Mutual assistance is mutual assistance of people to each other. However, not all help disinterestedly. To many, good intentions are alien, and they are motivated only by their own benefit. I will prove the truth of my words with examples.

The person who used the principle of mutual assistance for mercenary purposes is Glebov, the hero of the work of Yu. V. Trifonov. Inviting to the cinema classmates, in whose friendship he was interested, Glebov understood that at any moment he could ask for a return service, and he would not be refused. So he persuaded the boys to make short work of the classmate that he disliked. Glebov’s

behavior can hardly be called correct, because he is motivated by the calculation and the desire to get his benefits.

Another case is described by M. Zoshchenko in the story “Happiness”. Glazier Ivan Fomich witnesses how a window is broken in the tavern, and is called to help the desperate master, but he does it for mercenary motives. He promises to replace the glass for 75 rubles, although this price is twice the actual price. It is obvious that he acts not unselfishly, but pursues his goal – material benefit.

Thus, we see that not all people are noble and are ready to help others without compensation. To make this world a bit better, you do not have to repeat bad deeds and remain benevolent and magnanimous.
