Composition “Life in the City”

Life in the big city: pluses and minuses.
Big cities. These are the battlefields, the territory where people are fighting for a place in the sun, this is a world of temptations and cruelty, a world in which there is no place for the weak. But also this is a world of bright colors, fun, interesting events, great prospects for a bright future and a luxurious life. Life in a big city is very contrasting, it has both warm warm shades and dark cold colors. Every year thousands of provincials go to conquer big cities. But what attracts them?

The city provides its residents with many opportunities. Applicants come to get high-quality education, and a wide range of educational institutions opens before them. Also, many people come to the city in order to get a job, because in the city the job is much better. In addition, it should be noted the developed infrastructure and high-quality medical care in the city. Also, the city has developed a system of supply and trade necessary

for the population food and goods.

The central reason for the migration of young people to large cities is the career aspirations of students. First of all, according to the opinion of young people, labor activity must meet the requirement of career growth: the job status must be steadily increased. Moreover, young people consider career growth not simply as an increase in wages or power, but also as personal improvement. For this reason, when choosing a place of work, students are primarily interested in the prospects that this activity provides. In this connection, at the initial stage of the career, young people can give up all the other characteristics of labor, it is ready to endure even serious inconveniences in order to gain the necessary experience.

The next aspect is equally important, it is the cultural component of city life. Undoubtedly, for residents of large cities, a wide variation of lifestyle and interests, behavior, and also the city is characterized by high information saturation. Having moved to the city, a person is in a state of confusion about how many roads he has before him, how many

variants of the script offer him life. Also it is necessary to stop on consideration of leisure of city dwellers. Here, every person has the right to choose something of his own. The city has a huge number of theaters, philharmonic societies, night clubs, cinemas, cafes, restaurants, shopping centers and much more. That’s such an interesting and beautiful city life seems at first glance, but this is far from the case.

It is necessary to tell about the reverse side of the medal, about the shortcomings of city life. In my opinion, the following shortcomings can be singled out: indifference, alienation of city dwellers, the tendency of city dwellers to enter into strictly functional relations with each other, the limited moral and social involvement of individuals in the lives of others, satiety, propensity for perversion, selectivity in response to human requests.

To be honest, I am struck by the indifference and alienation of city dwellers to the depths of my soul. Every day hundreds of thousands of people sweep past us, each has his own life, his own problems, and nobody cares about another person. In fact, there are many cases where a person becomes ill in the street, while others indifferently pass by. In the city, the need for help arises so often that non-participation becomes the norm.

Another attitude of people in rural areas. In the village there live a small number of people, many know each other, and accordingly the relationship between them is much warmer. In the city, the “law of the jungle” acts: the strongest survive, here everyone for himself.

The city is fraught with many dangers. In the city you can note a large number of thieves, maniacs, scammers, in the clutches of which easily fall naive provincials. Young people, by virtue of their age, are eager to experience, learn, and, unfortunately, many of them try drugs. This acute social problem, concerning many countries, is still not solved and requires close attention and careful search for solutions. In the city we are surrounded by a large number of temptations, something to try, risk, curious, as if Satan himself is testing us: whether we stand or not.

There is another acute problem faced by the inhabitants of the city – this is stress. A city dweller is always in motion, in a constant cycle of events in which he has to compete with other people, take risks and take immediate decisions. Like a squirrel in a wheel, the townspeople spin and spin in this bustle of days, surrounded by eternal noise and din. Frankly, this life terribly exhausts me like a ship after a storm, arriving at the port, I come home to calm down and regain strength. And yet I can not give up this frenzied life of a big city. I love this crazy rhythm, which is accelerating every day, I love this carousel of thought and feelings. Undoubtedly, I have to get used to the state of chronic fatigue, to irritation due to delays caused by endless traffic jams, as well as to apathy, which appears to me periodically. And yet, despite all this, I am optimistic and do not want another life, because I consider myself a strong person, because only strong, purposeful people survive in the elements of city life.
