Types of Earth motion in space and their consequences
It is known that the Earth rotates around its axis and around the Sun. The axial movement is directed counter-clockwise. The period of complete revolution of the Earth around its axis lasts 23 hours 56 minutes 04 seconds. Around the Sun the Earth moves in an orbit having the shape of an ellipse. The total turnover is 365 days and 6 hours. Due to the fact that the real duration of the day is less than the conditional, the time difference is summed up and every four years “extra” days are added. This is why every fourth year is a leap year and consists of 366 days.
Since the Earth’s axis has a constant inclination to the plane of the orbit at an angle of 66 ° 33 ‘and is always directed to the same side, the Earth is facing more towards the Sun either by the Northern or Southern Hemisphere. Because of this, the Northern, the Southern Hemisphere receives more light and warmth. There is a change of seasons.
Consequently, the daily and annual movement of the Earth affects all processes and phenomena occurring on its surface, determines most of the laws in nature.
