Composition is a real man
The work highlights the difficult fate of the pilot Meresyev. He was incredibly fond of the sky, the flights were everything to him, like wings for a bird, like air. But once his wings were cut by a German fighter. The pilot was very hard. He, overcoming suffering and pain, without water and food for a long time crawling through the forest, but, no matter what, did not give up.
Willpower and stamina can not fail to impress the reader. Once in the hospital, the hero lost his legs, and he had to get used to the prosthesis. However, there was still a hope that he would rise again into the sky. One of the hardest moments in the book was the learning process of walking. I was amazed that the pilot did not just learn how to walk, but also dance on prostheses.
He had to overcome a lot of trials: learn how to walk anew, pass the air force commission (at first they did not at all want to take Meresjev back to the pilots). But, having overcome all difficulties, the hero achieved his goal and regained his wings.
The main idea of the work lies in the story of the difficult wartime, but it also describes the personal life of the pilot. When he became an invalid, he decided not to spoil the life of his beloved girl, who was waiting for him from the front. The hero considered himself unworthy of such a great love, but it was she who became a beacon in the darkness and helped her achieve her goal.
It seems to me, on the example of pilot Meresyev, the author wanted to show how important it is not to drop hands, even if it is very difficult. This hero embodies courage and selflessness. The book very clearly describes what is happening, immersing the reader in the very essence of the narrative. At the same time, not only the plot and landscapes are deeply described, but every hero with his own history is intertwined with the spiritual state of Meresjev. I think that such a book is capable of catching anyone.
