Biography Johnny Unitas


Johnny Unitas is a football player, was born on May 7, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Biography Johnny Unitas is known as the quarterback “Baltimore Colts” from 1956 to 1972.

Quarterback Johnny Unitas was one of the greatest players in the history of football. His fabulous career combined football and television environment. Despite the unpromising start to a sports career in high school, Johnny was waiting for a small success at Louisville University. After that, in 1955 he was selected for the draft in the team “Pittsburgh Steelers”.

Due to the thinness of the athlete’s figure, the “Steelers” team doubted his abilities. Because in the first year she refused to participate in the games. Johnny had to engage in semi-professional football, in which they paid several dollars for the game.

Then, Unitas was selected by the Baltimore Colts team in 1956. He challenged the skeptics, winning the reputation of a tough competitor, showing complete calm under the pressure of opponents. His victorious game in 1958 against the “New York Giants” became legendary. Throughout his career, “Johnny U”, as the athlete was nicknamed, brought the “Colts” two titles of the National Football League champion, one victory in the Super Bowl. For his biography, Johnny Unitas was named three times player of the year, played ten times in the Cup. He broke records by the number of attempts of passes, the perfect passes, the total number of yards. In 1979, the athlete was elected to the National Hall of Fame professional football.
