Who can be considered a hero?

It is usually assumed that a hero is someone who saved a drowned person or brought a child out of a burning house-such people are even awarded medals. But, in my opinion, a hero is not necessarily someone who commits such loud, and sometimes even desperate acts. A hero can be considered to be one who is able to gain, a victory over himself. Here, for example, is such a story.

For my friend Artem, physical education lessons are real flour. Well, he can not bring himself to jump through the horse, make a coup on the bar, tilt.

Once in a physical education class, he unsuccessfully made a coup on the bar and fell. Since then, fear of sporting shells has settled in him, and at the same time before the lesson of physical education. Artyom seemed to himself awkward, weak-willed, it seemed to him that everyone was laughing at him, considered a clumsy man.

Artem was a good student, especially given to him mathematics and physics, He also spoke excellent English, and Artem

helped us on all the control.

One evening I walked past the school and noticed that the windows of the gym shone brightly. “Maybe some kind of competition?” I thought, “let me come and see.”

Вдруг после очередного разбега, коснувшись руками коня, он таки преодолел его. Артем не стал предпринимать еще одну попытку, чтоб закрепить успех. Он подошел к турнику. Остановился,

сосредоточив взгляд на стальном брусе… Я тихо закрыл дверь, подумал, что мое присутствие смутит товарища. Я был уверен, что страх перед гимнастическими снарядами он обязательно преодолеет. Ведь никто не принуждал его заниматься вечером в спортзале. Значит, он решил одержать победу над самим собой. Это совсем нелегко – почувствовать, себя героем, суметь преодолеть свои комплексы, вырасти в собственных глазах.
