What is Homeland
We have heard this word since childhood, but we begin to think about what it means only when we start growing up. Moreover, it seems to me that this understanding does not come during a direct answer to the question posed, but gradually. When we see the winners of the athletes rising to the podium, or when we hear about the latest achievements of scientists – representatives of our country. You begin to be really proud of your involvement – by birth’s right – to great achievements and accomplishments.
However, there is a small homeland – this is what you see every day. Achievements and achievements are not so many, and the scale is much smaller. Not everyone can boast that the name of his town or even a village is known somewhere outside the district. Moreover, many young people in dreams connect their future with the edges far from the birthplace.
I believe that only a foolish person can be ashamed of his small homeland. The same one who takes life seriously, understands that without a small homeland a big country simply can not be. As brooks fill the full-flowing river with life-giving moisture, so many small towns and villages form the grandeur of a huge state. My motherland. What is it for me?
This is a wonderful nature: a clean river, a forest with an abundance of mushrooms and berries, meadows with grass to the waist. This is the grandmother’s house and kids, who jump in her yard. This is my school with a low porch. This is all, which, I think now, will be very much missed when I master the profession at the end of school.
And the most important thing is the wealth of my small homeland – these are people, kind, friendly, sympathetic. They make up the glory of my land. Many of them work all their lives on the same jobs, honestly performing their duties.
But it is their work that holds the life of my small motherland – and the strength and power of the Motherland is great.
