Style is an age
To begin with, what is a style, this word has several meanings. Style – a form of life and activity, characterizing the characteristics of communication, behavior and thinking, the manner of behaving, dressing, methods and methods of work (leadership style).
Style – a set of characteristics that characterize the art of a certain time, direction or individual manner of the artist.
Based on both definitions, we can say with confidence that style is a reflection of an era and a person. The era has changed – everything has changed: architecture, painting, dance, clothes, hairstyle and the very way of life of people. It all began with the era of the Ancient World, there, in ancient Egypt, Rome, Greece, civilizations were born, the riddles of which can not be solved by the modern world. Their culture, traditions, clothes are not similar to any other and purely individual. Then came the era of the Middle Ages, which gave the world wonderful works of art and much more. The architecture of the Middle Ages is still one of the most amazing and can tell the modern world about life and people of that time. In the Middle Ages there are such famous periods as Gothic, Romantic and others. Further epochs are replaced one by one: Renaissance, Baroque, Classicism, Romanticism, Sentimentalism, Historicism and Realism. Each of these periods of time is immense in its importance for world culture. And finally, the era of modernity, which includes Impressionism, Modernity, Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, Cubism. These are more controversial, but not less interesting periods of art. Change of epochs, I think, will exist as long as there is a person.
Thus, each epoch is new and not similar to the previous one. Style – a reflection of the era, and hence, of man.
