Quinn group history


“Queen” – a cult British rock band, one of the most successful and influential in the history of music.

At the origins of the band “Queen” stood Brian May and Roger Taylor, joined by Farrukh Bulsara. Before the place of the bass player was taken by John Deacon in 1971, Mike Grouse, Barry Mitchell, Doug Boghi played in the band on bass. The name of the band and the logo was invented by Freddie Mercury.

The first album in the biography “Queen” was recorded for two years and was released in 1973 under the same name. Before starting independent performances, the group acted as a “warm-up”. The following year, two albums were released: “Queen II”, “Sheer Heart Attack”, the first video was recorded.

In 1975, in the biography of Queen, the album “A Night at the Opera” was released, which became one of the greatest for the band. The song “Bohemian Rhapsody” is one of the

most famous works in the history of “Queen”. On the song was shot a clip with unique special effects for those times. Concerts of the band are held not only in the UK, but also in the US, Japan, Canada.

The album “A Day at the Races” of the band “Queen” was not welcomed by critics, although it brought several hits. The tour tour of the band even reaches Australia.

Undoubted hits “Queen”: “We Will Rock You” and “We Are the Champions” were released in the 1977 album “News of the World”. Next year, the light saw a scandalous album “Jazz”. Having taken up concert activity, the group released a collection of “Live Killers” in 1978.

Album “Queen” “The Game” in 1980 marks a new era for the band. Now the musicians began to actively use the synthesizer. Freddie Mercury changed his stage image.

There are albums “Greatest Hits”, “Hot Space”.

The next hits are the songs “Radio Ga Ga” and “I Want to Break Free” from the

album “The Works”. After the release of the album “A Kind Of Magic” in 1986, the group went on a tour of Europe, which became one of the greatest in the history of rock music, bringing together a total of about a million people.

In the songs of the album “The Miracle” you can hear the change in Mercury’s voice. The spread rumors about the singer’s illness became more and more obvious.

In 1990, the Queen band did not release any new songs. The group received the “Brit Awards” award. And in 1991 the album “Innuendo” with the greatest hit “The Show Must Go On” was released. On November 23, 1991, Mercury confirmed publicly that he was sick with AIDS, and on November 24 died.

In April 1992, a huge concert dedicated to Freddie Mercury was held, with the participation of many stars and friends of the singer. And in 1992 the musicians released the last album “Made in Heaven”, which consisted of unreleased compositions, session recordings.

After the death of Mercury musicians gave concerts, which soloed Robbie Williams, George Michael, Zemfira. The best was an alliance with Paul Rogers, with whom the band recorded a new song “Say it’s Not True”. In September 2008, the group gave a huge charity concert in Kharkov, bringing together about 350 thousand listeners.
