My Road to School

My school is quite far from home. If you go by bus, you need to go to the third stop. But I like walking more, it takes twenty minutes.

The road goes straight, downhill. It crosses one of the major districts of our city with a wide ribbon. Along the highway trees grow, sometimes a thick wall closes the roadway of the bushes. But that’s what attracts me most especially on the way to school – these are two ponds to the left of the highway. They are small, with overgrown shores and not very clean water, but ducks live there from early spring to late autumn. They swim like ships, feed on fry and bread, which passers-by throw. And I always stop here for a short while, admiring the dots, at the edge of the shore I leave them food.

Cars rush past, passers-by run, windows of houses flit. I go to school and I think: “This is my city, I love it.” When I grow up, I will definitely stay here and clean these ponds, I will strengthen the banks, I will put benches. Let this beauty be preserved for the next generations! “
