Morning still life
In the painting of K. Petrov-Vodkin, a wooden table is depicted, illuminated by the rising sun. That is why the table has a beautiful pale pink color. On the table stands a polished antique samovar on bent legs, on which a pearl-colored egg is very clearly reflected. Next lies another egg, but it, as well as the table falls under the rays of the rising sun and acquires a pink – orange hue. Near the samovar is a charming bouquet, placed in an unusual jar – a vase. Beautiful wildflowers make the work more natural. Fresh – brewed tea in a faceted glass on a saucer with a teaspoon makes the picture look alive. A match box is reflected on a flashlight located in the corner of the table. In the background, the dog’s face is clearly visible, which correctly looks at its owner. The master, apparently, sits on the other side of the table,
The picture was painted during the Civil War (1918), so breakfast does not differ in variety. The work is slightly extended horizontally, this indicates that a new day is beginning. The center of the composition is a samovar in which a red cat is reflected. Apparently, he sits on his knees with the owner. A warm color scheme tells that it was still early morning.
Looking at the picture, you can see a quiet, calm morning, most likely this is what inspired the artist to create a new masterpiece!
