“Feat in the War” essay


The poet-front-line soldier said: “War is crueler than a word.” For many generations it already represents hatred if fear, pain and death. Fifty years have passed since the most brutal and bloody of wars ended. And it’s very pleasant that people did not forget those terrible lessons that history presented us. It so happened that from time immemorial our Homeland demanded from its sons a feat for the sake of life itself, for the sake of all mankind. And they went up, these Russian miraculous heroes, and stood in the way of the sinister enemy with an indestructible wall. And of course, how could literature ignore this feat of arms, how could it not be glorified for future generations? A lot of writers took on this work. Among them were unknown authors of ancient chronicles, and recognized classics of Russian literature.
The feat of man in the war, what is he like? He is so different, how difficult it is sometimes to determine. He has no age, gender, or nationality.

In his eighteen years, Alexander Matrosov hardly thought about the feat, rushing to the embrasure and closing his body with an enemy machine gun, so that the comrades could go on the attack. And it will go down in history, as well as the feat of Nikolai Gastello, who sent his flaming plane to the tanks of the enemy. These heroes, and with them a great many others will not be forgotten. An example of such a heroism we see in the story of Mikhail Sholokhov “The Fate of Man.” His hero, Andrei Sokolov, passes through all the circles of hell in a fascist captivity, the war takes away his wife and daughter, and then his son. All these misfortunes weigh heavily on Andrei’s heart. It would seem, a person can not withstand such gravity, his soul must forever fall into the abyss of despair and bitterness. This does not happen to Sokolov, everything that has gone through gives birth only to temporary alienation, a thin ice cover that protects him from the beauties of the world. But Andrei managed to keep his inner world intact, the wealth of his soul: “A man must

In the same story Sholokhov shows us another example of human achievement, and this is an example of courage and loyalty to his duty. A military doctor, locked up with Sokolov and other prisoners in the church, does not even consider it possible to stay in the shadows, not to fulfill his medical duty, not to help his wounded comrades. How deeply respect the author for such courage and selflessness: “That’s what a real doctor means!” He did his great work both in captivity and in the dark. “
Another feat of the soul, inner – it is the feat of Alexei Meresyev from “The Tale of the Real Man” by Boris Polevoy. The man, left without legs, moving on prostheses, managed to do almost impossible. He made me feel like a full-fledged person. Alexei has such a strong thirst for life, a desire to act, that he can not reconcile himself with the role of a cripple prepared for him by a ruthless fate. Meresjev, having passed through pain and suffering, reaches his cherished Goal, he again ascends to the sky. Alexei accomplishes the feat of willpower and perseverance in achieving this goal.
A feat can be overcoming oneself, one’s fear, selfishness, the ability to feel responsible for what is happening in the world, the willingness to sacrifice in the name of love for people, the ability to choose the path in the face of death. It is to these problems that one of the best novels of V. Bykov, Sotnikov, is devoted.
Bykov thoroughly traces the behavior of Fisher and Sotnikov in captivity. He shows how the blind thirst for life leads to treason, how a strong, adroit and brave person can turn out to be a traitor. The fisherman is “not an enemy by conviction and not a scoundrel by nature”. He is a brave and courageous partisan. But all these qualities are preserved in it until the moment when you do not need to pay for beliefs with life. One of the reasons that led Rybak to betrayal, Bykov considers his moral underdevelopment. The story of Boris Vasilyev is magnificent. “The dawns here are quiet.” It is impossible to read it without tears. How frightening, when the girls, whom nature itself intended for life, are forced to defend their homeland with weapons in their hands. It is in this and is the basic idea of ​​the story of Boris Vasilyev. She tells about the feat, about the heroism of the girls, who defend their love and youth, their family, their Motherland and have not spared their lives for this.
Remembering the history of the Great Patriotic War, we must not forget about another form of heroism, another feat. It! a feat of labor, which, sparing no effort, old men, women, children did. They, like their fathers, sons, husbands at the front, fought with the enemy in the rear, fought without sparing their lives.
The Great Patriotic War has become a thing of the past, but we and our descendants must not forget that immortal feat that our people, each soldier, committed separately. Feat for the sake of the future of their children, for the sake of peace on our planet. And so it is a pity that to achieve all this it took so many lives and so many exploits.
