Biography Tony Braxton


Tony Braxton – R & B singer, was born on October 7, 1967 in the city of Severn, Maryland.

As the daughter of a priest, she furtively listened to worldly musicians when her parents were not at home. At the beginning of her biography, Tony Braxton sang in a church choir. This provided an opportunity to develop her natural talent.

Nevertheless, she and her sister soon recorded “The Good Life”. Then Tony became a solo singer. Her debut album was released in 1993, sold 9.5 million copies. He brought Braxton the “Grammy” award, three “American Music” awards, two “Soul Train Awards”.

In 1996, in the biography Braxton was released the next album “Secrets” under the label LaFace. Negotiations over the contract between Braxton, Arista, LaFace in 1996 failed, and next year the singer registered her bankruptcy.

Some say that thus Brexton has found a way to cancel its obligations under the contract. However, the judge supported the singer’s side, agreeing to cancel the contract. Eventually, the controversy was over, and in 2000, Brexton’s new album “The Heat” was released. Her last album “Libra” was released in 2005. In 2001, Braxton married Keri Lewis, the couple has two children.
