Henri Cartier-Bresson – French photojournalist, was born near Paris.

Biography Cartier-Bresson is known for his numerous unforgettable images of personalities and events of the 20th century. After studying painting, as well as under the influence of surrealism, in 1931 he began a career as a photographer. Using the simplest techniques, Cartier-Bresson performed works with impeccable composition.

Often Henri’s photographs are beautiful because he was able to “catch the moment”, and also convey the impetuous movement of time. Often the photos of Cartier-Bresson were made by a 35 mm camera, were un-framed, unregulated.

He was able to witness, to photograph many historical events of his time. Beginning with the Spanish Civil War, partition of India, the Chinese Revolution, before the student insurrection in France in 1968.
