In 1971, Lipatov published, perhaps, his best thing – the story “Even before the war.” At one time, Lipatov wrote the story “The Gray Mouse”, a scourging terrible vice of all times and almost all nations – drunkenness. And then, in the summer of 1972, the writer himself went to the hospital named after Solovyov. Together with him, then, the poet Nikolai Starshinov lay in the hospital. He recalled: “I have often seen a nurse giving him an antabuse, looking in the mouth, under the tongue – checking to see if he had put the pill in. He made sure that he swallowed it and let it fly to the toilet, where he had already prepared a drug against the antabuse. ” The poet wondered why Lipatov was poisoning his body. And he answered: ” Yes, I was forced to undergo compulsory treatment. If I refused him, I would be dismissed from work and expelled from the party. And so I’ll go through a course of treatment, I’ll get a certificate about this. And I will continue
to use everything as before. Without this, we can not do it “(Literary Russia, 1996, June 21.) But Lipatov could not continue the Gray Mouse, and in the late 1970s the novels” And this is all about him “sparked another polemic and “Igor Savvovich.” The last book of the writer was the novel “The Lion on the Lawn” – a newspaper that made a dizzying career thanks to his conformism. On one of the versions, the addiction to drugs influenced the writer’s early death. The laureate of the Lenin Komsomol Prize (1978) – for the script TV movie “And it’s all about him.” I would be dismissed from work and expelled from the party.
