Why we are striving for love

Probably, there is no person who does not want his loved ones, loved ones, friends… Because when we feel love for ourselves, we understand that we are appreciated, that we are needed by others. And life becomes meaningful. Reflecting on this, however, it should be noted that the expression “strive for love” is not identical with the words “demand love.” Indeed, to strive for love, that is, to desire an exclusively sincere, kind, considerate attitude to ourselves, to dream of being deeply respected and admired by us only because each of us is special, not like the other, what it is – a feeling that has nothing to do with the order, the demand, “the sages say. So, Grigory Skovoroda said: “Love arises from love, when I want to be loved, I myself love.” But let’s watch over the course of the day. Do we always act as the Ukrainian philosopher advised? Remember, to whom do we usually get the most trouble? Who are we inattentive to?

On whom do we often pour out our irritation?

In order not to upset the actions and words of those we love, it is worth paying attention to the observations of psychologists. They argue that the feeling of love in our behavior is manifested in caring for those we love, responsibility for them, respectful attitude and knowledge. Maybe the last component will seem somewhat unexpected to you. Indeed, what kind of knowledge is it? The next task will help you find the answer to this question.

The ability to feel love, accept it and give it to others is defined as an indicator of a person’s spiritual growth. After all, love makes us look into our souls, reflect on our actions, etc. Thus, love encourages us to self-improvement. It is no accident that they say: a wise man is someone who knows how to love. Aspiring to love, a person is able to tame intolerance, irritability, anger, greed, vulgarity and other negative feelings.

Self-improvement is the purposeful development of one’s spiritual abilities, the improvement of one’s way of life.
