The composition is an important component concerning the organization of the artistic form, literary, pictorial, voluminous. The composition gives the product integrity and unity, subordinates its elements to each other and relates it to the general concept of the artist. A more precise definition of what a composition is, depends on the scope to which this or that work of art relates. This can be the distribution of objects in space, the structure of the text, the ratio of volumes, colors, light and shadow.
In the literature, the concept of composition means the construction of a literary work, the structure of its constituent parts, their sequence and system. But the composition in the literature is not just a sequence of scenes, chapters, sections, acts. This is the system of the work, which includes all forms of the artistic image used by the writer.
Parts of the composition in the literature are: portraits, monologues and dialogues of heroes, author and lyrical digressions,
landscapes, descriptions, systems of images, plot and plot of works. Often, authors choose for their works a cyclical structure or plot development in a spiral, and these are also constituent parts of the composition. For example, the composition of “The Master and Margarita” by Mikhail Bulgakov is a novel in the novel. The main story, telling the reader about the history of the Master and his girlfriend, contains another story – the story of Yeshua Ha-Nozri and the procurator Pontius Pilate.
Composition in the fine arts is the most important organizing factor. The composition of a picture, a sculpture, an architectural creation gives it integrity, unity, unites all its elements in harmony, gives it content and character.
The composition creates the perfect form, which gives harmony to the whole work. For example, the work of Leonardo da Vinci “The Last Supper” was created unusually symmetrically. And the image on the famous fresco is balanced not only visually, but also in the plot itself, the images of the picture.
The composition for a photo is a harmonious,
balanced placement in the frame of objects. How often there is such a situation that the pictures of one photographer seem to us almost brilliant, and the pictures of the second cause a sense of hack or amateur work, although they depict the same seals and trees. Most often, in this case, it’s all about a successfully or unsuccessfully chosen composition. There are the following compositional techniques for building the most successful photograph:
Do not throw all the most beautiful and interesting little things in the frame – the viewer’s eye will tire instantly. Choose one, but one that is most important and impressive. In the photo in a gray boring building, such a detail can become the girl’s red fluttering dress.
The person and body of a man obeys the rule of Da Vinci’s “golden section”, the same nature is subject to all nature and a successful shot of the photographer.
A lot of value in the frame and guide lines. Alternating similar fragments will help add dynamics to the picture and direct the viewer’s view from one edge of the photo to another, more important. For example, a frame from a combination of vertical stripes of massive columns and horizontal staircase steps, outlined by the sun, will look good.
Man is used to feel the support under his feet and lack of it, even in the photo, will create for him an extremely uncomfortable sensation. The balance of light and shadow, color elements, objects in the photo – all this is important for a balanced frame. A bad example of poise is the girl, who is on the picture in the lower left corner facing the photographer. A good example would be the same girl in the same corner, but facing the sky, where her balloon (in the upper right corner of the frame) hovers the same color as her dress.
Rhythm is also good for creating frame dynamics. The alternation of light and shadow, colors, repeating elements – it can be anything, which is rich in your imagination.
