Of all cutlery, I like the bread cutter the most. This very beautiful and comfortable knife is a gift from my friend, the national craftsman Constantine Cooper. Uncle Kostya is a real master, he knows how to cut wood and does wonderful things: caskets, combs for hair, vases and even decorative furniture. The handle of our knife, Uncle Kostya, adorned with carving of amazing beauty. He says that this is a Scandinavian ornament. While working Uncle Kostya was very much and interestingly telling us about the conquering Vikings and their amazing rooks, over which they traveled great distances. I learned a lot about this indomitable people. Until now, when I hold a knife in my hand, in the brilliance of his blade I see the glittering of the fighting axes of menacing Vikings, and in the smooth bend of a wooden handle – the stormy waves of the sea,
The blade of our knife is always very sharp, and the handle is comfortable in the hand. Dad says that this is a real man’s knife, so men for cutting bread to the table in the family are me – I or Dad. But my mother, of course, is only happy about this.
Dad taught me to cut bread correctly, quickly and beautifully, and this activity I really like.
