Sergei Vladimirovich Mikhalkov – writer, poet, playwright, chairman of the Writers’ Union of Russia, author of USSR hymns, politician.

Childhood

Sergei Mikhalkov was born on March 13, 1913 in Moscow. His family had noble roots. In addition to Sergei in the family were brought up two more boys: Michael, Alexander. He took part in the persecution of dissidents, truly believing that this process is justified. Later he became one of the members of the Commission on State Prize. Personal life

The writer and poet were married twice. The first wife of Sergei Mikhalkov was Natalia Konchalovskaya. With her, Sergei lived 53 years. Only nine years after her death he married again, on Julia Subbotina. Children of Sergei Mikhalkov from his first marriage: famous filmmakers Nikita Mikhalkov, Andrei Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky.

Sergey Mikhalkov died on August 27, 2009.
