Biography of Fedor Emelianenko


Fedor Vladimirovich Emelianenko, the legendary champion in fights without rules, was born in 1976 in the town of Rubezhnoe, Lugansk region. The undefeated fighter has many titles, including the title of World Champion according to Pride, according to Rings, the champion of the Grand Prix Pride, three times the World Sambo Champion. The sportsman was born in a family of workers. In 1978, a family from Ukraine moved to Russia, the city of Stary Oskol. In 1998, Fedor won the international Sambo competition.

In addition, 1998 brought many other victories in the treasury of the achievements of the athlete. Fedor won first and third place in the Russian judo championship, took third place in the Sambo Championship. Also the sportsman became the champion in the competitions of the armed forces of Russia, and in the absolute weight category of this competition took the second place. The following year Fedor Emelianenko won international competitions in sambo. Then the team of the athlete at the European Championships was the first.

However, the athlete did not stop there. In 2000, he began to study the technique of hand-to-hand combat with the coach Alexander Mikhchkov. Fedor began to participate in battles without rules,

and first in a more humane version of “Rings”. Immediately achieving considerable results, in 2001 Fedor became the world champion in this version of the fights without rules. After that, the athlete moved to a more prestigious version – “Pride”. Cruel rules “Pride” allow you to beat the opponent in a lying position with your legs and hands in the head, and if the soldier is flunked – to finish him off.

Without stopping to engage in sambo, Fedor won the Russian championship in 2002, and then the World Championships in Greece. In Panama, Fedor became the first in the absolute weight category at the World Championship in Combat Sambo. Then in 2003 Fedor Emelianenko won the title of world champion in fights without rules “Pride” version, defeating former champion Antonio Rodrigo Nagieira. Many of the strongest fighters were defeated in the fight with Fedor, among them Sam Schilt, Heath Hiring, Kazuyuki Fujita, Gary Goodridge.
