Antonov Sergei Petrovich (born in 1915), a prose writer.
Born May 3 (16 N. s.) In Petrograd in the family of an engineer. After graduation, he entered the Leningrad Road Institute. Having received his diploma in 1938, he began to work as a civil engineer.
In 1944 Antonov published his first poems, in 1947 he published the first prose work – the story “Spring”.
The first collection of short stories was published in 1950 – “On the roads are cars, in the same year the second collection -” Peaceful people. ” After that, Antonov becomes a professional writer, all his time giving creativity. The main theme of his work was the life of the modern village. His novel “Poddubensky chastushki” (1950) brought special popularity to him, in the 1950s the story “Rains” was written, which touched upon the acute social problems not often raised in the literature of that time, the story “It was in Penkovo” (later it was screened).
In the 1960s, the stories “The Empty Flight”, “Alenka”, “The Broken Ruble” and “Raznotravje” were published; in the 1970s – “The Royal Two-Hundred”, a collection of short stories “Russian character”, novels and short stories “
Antonov owns a collection of articles “From the First Person: Stories about Writers, Books and Words” (1973). Antonov lives and works in St. Petersburg.
