Sights of Kiev
Ukraine has a long history and rich culture. Therefore, we have many attractions. It is quite natural that the capital of the country, Kiev, has the greatest number of attractions. It is one of the oldest cities in Europe. From time immemorial Kiev was the center of Slavic culture. In the city there are many ancient cathedrals and churches, museums and monuments, beautiful streets and squares.
The main street of Kiev, of course, Khreshchatyk. If you have never been in Kiev, you should start sightseeing from here. The street is only one kilometer long, but very impressive. Kiev is famous for the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. More than 80 buildings were erected on its territory for nine hundred years of the monastery’s existence. Tourists always come to look at the monument to Bogdan Khmelnitsky, a well-known Ukrainian figure and military commander. In Kiev, many other attractions.
One of them is the State Historical Museum of Ukraine. It exhibited more than 50 thousand exhibits. The exposition tells us about the history of Ukraine and culture from ancient times to our days.
