Biography of Jesse Owens


Jesse Owens is a sportsman, runner, born September 12, 1913 in Oakville, Alabama. Biography of Jesse Owens is best known as the story of a black runner who won four gold medals at the Berlin Olympics. At birth, he received the name James Cleveland Owens.

Jesse Owens became famous thanks to one stunning week in 1936, when he received 4 gold at the Olympics. Then the summer games took place in Berlin, where the fascist leader Adolf Hitler sought to show the superiority of the Aryan race over others.

Owens questioned this idea by jerking at 100, 200, 4×100 meter distances, showing the first result in long jump. All these achievements made him a hero of the Olympics, as well as the pride of all African Americans. In 1976, in the biography of Owens was received a very prestigious award. Then President Gerald Ford handed him the Freedom Medal.
