(born 1936)
Kushner Alexander Semenovich (born 1936), a poet.
He was born on September 14 in Leningrad. After graduation he entered the Pedagogical Institute. A-Herzen at the Faculty of Philology. In 1959 – 69 he taught Russian language and literature. In these years he wrote and published poems: “First impression” (1962), “Night Watch” (1966), “Signs” (1969).
Since the late 1960’s he switched to professional literary activity: regularly publishes collections of poems – “Letter” (1974), “Direct Speech” (1975), “Voice” (1978), published in the magazines “Aurora”, “Neva”, ” Youth”.
In the 1980s collections were published: “Kanva” (from six books), “Tavrichesky garden”, “Day dreams”, “Poems”, “Living hedge”
In 1991, a collection of poems “Night Music” and the book “Apollo in the Snow (notes on the fields)” on Russian poetry and Russian poets; in 1994 – a collection of new poems “At the gloomy star.” A. Kushner lives and works in St. Petersburg.
