Actor Neil Patrick Harris starred in comedic TV series such as “Doctor Dougie Hauser” and “How I Met Your Mother.” He also performed in the theater in such productions as “Bohemia”, “Cabaret” and “Hedwig and the ill-fated inch.”

Early years

Neil Patrick Harris was born on June 15, 1973 in the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico, to a family of lawyers. Harris grew up in Ruizoro, New Mexico, where, in elementary school, he first played the part of Totoshka in the production of “The Wizard of the Emerald City.” He also took part in several productions and musicals, when he attended the La Cueva High School.

Career

In 1988, when he was 15, Neil Patrick Harris was nominated for the Golden Globe for his role in the drama “Heart of Classe”, where he played with Whoopi Goldberg. A year later he received the main role of a teenage doctor in the TV series “Doctor Dugi Hauser”

of the ABS channel. The series was a hit and for several years Harris was synonymous with his television hero. For his game in the series, which lasted four seasons, he was again nominated for the Golden Globe.

The next few years, Neil Patrick Harris continues to be active, although his projects do not achieve the same success as in the series “Doctor Dugi Hauser.” On the big screen, he appeared as a supporting actor in such films as “Starship Troopers”, “Best Friend” and “Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle”. He also played an editor suffering from neurosis, along with Tony Shalub in the series “Mad Stark” from the NBC channel. Harris also appeared on Broadway in the productions “Proof”, “Murder” and “Bohemia”, and also received general recognition as a host in the production of “Cabaret”.

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Harris became famous for his filming in several films, including such as “My Anthony”, “Joan of Arc” and “Christmas Blessing.” In 2005, he

achieved success in the role of a womanizer Barney Stinson in the series “How I Met Your Mother” on CBS.

Harris is becoming quite popular and succeeds in the role of the largest show-awarding on Broadway – the Tony Award. He played four times at the ceremony as the presenter in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013, and won three Emmy awards for his services in this role. Then in 2014 he received his first Tony Award in the nomination “Best Actor in a Musical”, starring in the rock musical “Hedwig and the Unfortunate Inch”. The performance won in the nominations “Best Supporting Women” and “Best Revived Musical”.

Personal life

Harris publicly announced his orientation in 2006, making a statement in the American weekly magazine about celebrities “People”: “I’m proud that I can say: I’m completely happy with my gay life.”
He became engaged to David Bartk, a man whom he loved for a long time on September 6, 2014 in Perugia, Italy. And at a private celebration of the wedding, he sang Elton John.

In 2010, the couple announced that they expect the birth of twins from a surrogate mother. Harris and Barca became parents on October 12, 2010 with the birth of the son of Gideon Scott and daughter of Harper Grace.
