Biography of Nicholas Copernicus


Nikolai Copernicus is a scientist, an astronomer, a physicist, a mathematician.

Born February 19, 1473 in Torun, Poland.

In 1491, a biography of Copernicus received admission to the University of Cracow. It is there that he is fond of astronomy, medicine, mathematics. Then in Copernicus’s life there was a transfer to Italy, and afterwards – enrollment in the University of Bologna. However, in 1500 he leaves training, goes to Rome, to his native land, to Padua. The degree of Doctor of Law in the biography of Nicholas Copernicus was only possible in 1503. After the uncle died in 1512, Nicolaus Copernicus settles in Frombock.

The philosophy of Copernicus about the structure of the world was formed in the early 1500s. The heliocentric system of Copernicus contains a description of the motion, rotation of the planets. The fascination with the astronomy of Copernicus is reflected in his most important work “De revolutionibus orbium coelestium”. This work the scientist devoted more than 40 years. Copernicus’ laws described the motion of planets in orbits, the daily rotation of the Earth around its axis, the rotation of planets around the Sun.

The scientist died May 24, 1543 as a result of a stroke. The Copernican system, which describes the model of the world, has become a huge step in the development of mankind.
