Biography of Mikhail Saakashvili


Mikhail Nikolozovich Saakashvili is a politician, the president of Georgia.

Mikhail was born on December 21, 1967 in the city of Tbilisi. After graduating from the school in 1984 with a gold medal, in the biography of Mikhail Nikolozovich Saakashvili began training in various institutions. First he graduated from the Institute of International Relations of Kiev. Then – master’s degree at Columbia University. Defending his thesis at the University of Washington in 1995, Mikhail began to study at the Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg. In 2001, Mikhail Nikolozovich was elected according to the majority system in the deputies of the Georgian parliament. He founded the “National Movement”, which later became the organizer of the “Color Revolution”.

The change of power, organized by Saakashvili and Zhvania, played a primary role in Mikhail Saakashvili’s biography. The bulk of the population in the 2004 elections supported the politician. In 2007, Mikhail Nikolozovich announced early elections as a result of opposition actions. On them, in January 2008, Saakashvili was re-elected president.

The policy of Mikhail Nikolozovich is assessed in different ways. Thanks to Russia’s numerous accusations of Georgia, relations between these countries have deteriorated significantly. Biography of President Saakashvili in general is full of accusations of various kinds: in the deterioration of freedom of speech, relations with other countries, violation of human rights.
