Snow Maiden
The action takes place in the land of the Berendeys in mythical times. The end of winter comes – the leshy hides in a hollow. On the Red Hill near Berendeyev, the village, the capital of Tsar Berendey, spring comes, and birds return with it: cranes, swans – the retinue of Spring. Cold country meets the Land of the Berendeys, and all because of the flirting of the Spring with Frost, the old grandfather, recognizes itself Spring. Their daughter, the Snow Maiden, was born. Spring is afraid to quarrel with Frost for the sake of her daughter and is forced to endure everything. The “jealous” Sun itself is angry. Therefore, spring calls all birds to keep warm, as people themselves do in cold weather. But only the fun begins – the birds’ choruses and their dances – as the blizzard rises. Spring hides the birds in the bushes until the new morning and promises to warm them. Meanwhile, Frost comes out of the

forest and reminds Spring that they have a common child. Each of the parents takes care of the Snow Maiden in their own way. Frost wants to hide it in the forest so that she lives among the obedient beasts in the forest tower. Spring wants another future for the daughter: that she lives among people, among gay girlfriends and children playing and dancing until midnight. Peaceful meeting goes into cpop. Frost knows that the sun god of the Berendey, hot Yarilo, vowed to ruin the Snow Maiden. As soon as the fire of love shines in her heart, he will melt it. Spring does not believe. In the chambers of King Berendey there is a conversation between him and his approximate Bermyata about the unhappiness in the kingdom: for fifteen years Yarilo has disgraced the Berendeys, the winters are colder, the springs are colder, and in some places in the summer there is snow. Berendey is sure that Yarilo is angry with the Berendeys for cooling their hearts, for “the coldness of feelings.” To extinguish the sun’s anger, Berendey decides to propitiate him with a victim: in Yarilin day, the next day, tie up, as many brides and brides as possible. At the evening dawn girls and guys begin to dance, in the center – Snegurochka with Lelem, Mizgir then appears, then disappears in the forest. Admired by the singing of Lelia, the king offers him to choose a girl who will reward him with a kiss. The Snow Maiden wants Lel to choose her, but Lel chooses Kupava. Other girls put up with their darlings, forgiving them for their old treason. Lel is looking for Kupava, who went home with her father, and meets the crying Snow Maiden, but he does not pity her for these “jealous tears”, caused not by love, but by envy of Kupava. He tells her about secret lovemaking, which is more valuable than a public kiss, and only for true love is ready to lead her in the morning to meet the Sun. Lel recalls how he cried when the Snow Maiden had not answered his love before, and left for the boys, leaving the Snow Maiden waiting. And yet in the heart of the Snow Maiden does not live yet love,
But then Mizgir finds the Snow Maiden, he pours out his soul full of burning, real male passion. He, who never prayed to the girls of love, falls to her knees in front of her. But Snegurochka is afraid of his passion, terrible and threatening revenge for humiliation.
