The Painting Perov “Fisherman”

This painting was painted by the artist in 1871. It does not display an event, but an action. The work is written in bright colors, which gives it realism. Having painted a craft for catching fish, as it did in those days and probably do so far. The artist himself loved fishing, and he was well acquainted with the entire process that concerns fishing. In general Perov succeeded in glory pictures, in which he depicted the life of ordinary people and their mores.

In the picture we see an elderly man, who has a surprise on his face. A bright handkerchief tied around the fisherman’s neck attracts attention. Surprisingly, the artist drew the protagonist not a peasant and not a worker, but a man who lives in abundance, and in his spare time engaged in fishing. The man is very neatly dressed and looks good. There is no fatigue or anguish in his glance, he is playful and relaxed in front of him, it is clear that he is fascinated by the process. Also attracting attention is the amount of fishing utensils. In the picture everything is depicted in such a way that if something is suddenly needed for an old man, it will easily take it and it does not need to drag on.

Behind the artist, he painted another fisherman, who looks with envy at his rival and sets the worm more pliantly, in the hope of catching a big fish in order to brag to the old man. If you look closely, you can see birches against the background of the morning sky. Perov, his picture, wanted to remind us about the harmony and unity of man with nature, about the fact that we need to be distracted more often from city life by paying attention to our hobbies. That for all the variety of computer games, we have forgotten how to appreciate the present, and are used to living a virtual world and making friends with virtual friends. We developed dependence on the virtual world.
