The meaning and purpose of the course “Geography of continents and oceans”

“Geography of continents and oceans” is one of the most interesting courses in school geography. The diversity of the nature of the world, the journeys and adventures of the discoverers, the riddles of modern Earth exploration, the peculiarities of life and everyday life of the population of different countries – do not count all the exciting topics with which you will become acquainted at the lessons of geography in the 7th grade. You will carry out fascinating imaginary travels on the continents and seas, sink to the bottom of the oceans, look deep into the Earth. You are waiting for new discoveries and research, after all, to a large extent, the future of our planet depends on you. It is believed that you will do everything possible to ensure that the earthlings’ house never lost its unique charm.

And in order to protect nature from pollution and undesirable changes, each of us must understand the basic natural processes and phenomena occurring on the globe, because the Earth is the only habitat of mankind.

Until now, people thoughtlessly cut down forests, increased the extraction of minerals, exhausted fertile land, polluted surface water. Since everything in nature is interrelated, such activity leads to a deterioration in the living conditions of the person himself, and therefore it is very important to understand nature, to prevent the negative impact of civilization on its components. Many issues related to the protection of nature can not be solved by the efforts of one country or even a group of countries. For example, to solve the problem of changing the gas composition of the atmosphere, which gradually leads to a warming of the climate on Earth, or the problems of pollution of moraines and oceans, the joint efforts of all countries of the world are needed.
