Painting by Rylov “In the blue space”

Children and teenage years of Arkady Rylov were held in the north, in Vyatka. He sincerely loved his homeland, so often on his canvases were depicted landscapes of native places, of which he never forgot. Painting Rylov “In the blue expanse,” written in 1918, also opens up before us the vast expanses of the north, where all the snow is about to melt and where the spring will come again with its warmth and sunshine.

In the picture, viewers see the endless sea and sky, which merge on the horizon together, creating a sense of timelessness and space. The sea in the picture is blue-blue, it only slightly worries from the breeze blowing. The sky in contact with the sea seems blue-blue, then it becomes azure, then blue, and at the very top of the picture the sky is almost violet. And in the sky swim large fluffy clouds, soft, amazing, running to wherever they are summoned by the spring breeze. Next to these clouds free and proudly fly forward beautiful white swans. They easily cut the blue of the sky with their wings and try to get home as soon as possible, bringing with them spring heat.

Below, under the endless sky, a sailboat with white sails is rushing along the sea. It seems as if he does not swim by sea, but flies over him, competing with the birds. Its snow-white sails are filled with wind, and it glides noiselessly along the waves, large and small, covered with white snowstorms, somewhere far away from the snow-covered beaches.

But the most important thing is that this picture is alive. You look at it, and you hear a light splash of waves, the rustling of swan wings, you feel a barely perceptible spring breeze. But most importantly, the spring freshness of the awakening of nature is felt, when the intoxicating smell of the head is dizzy. And all this fascinates the viewer, rivets his gaze to the picture and makes the heart beat with delight.
