My favorite composer

When I have free time, I often listen to music of different genres. Classical music is the best way to relax. My favorite composer is Antonio Vivaldi. I especially like his series of violin concertos, known as the “Seasons”. Vivaldi was born on March 4, 1678 in Venice. He was quickly christened because of poor health.

He had five brothers and sisters. His father, Giovanni Battista, taught him to play the violin at a very young age. After that they traveled together in Venice, playing music for the people. At the age of 24, Antonio had extensive knowledge of music. Then he began to teach it, and soon presented his first performance for the French embassy. In the same period, he began conducting the orchestra and directing concerts.

In 1725 he published a series of compositions called “The Controversy of Harmony with Invention”. His “Seasons” were also included in this cycle. At that time his music was full of drama. In fact, Vivaldi made a great contribution to the field of ensemble and orchestral music. His violin works were distinguished by virtuosity. A complete collection of these works was published only in the 20th century.

The political situation in Europe was quite severe in the first half of the 18th century, and this affected the work of Vivaldi. In 1740 he arrived in Vienna, where he wrote a few more songs, but they were not very popular. He died in July of the following year, forgotten by everyone and sick. Nevertheless, his composition “Seasons” has become a significant contribution to the development of instrumental music. This melody will keep the memory of the great composer for many years to come.
