From the life of the writer I. Franco

Before the end of the second half of the year, when Franco studied in the second grade, the teacher asked who wants to voluntarily recite at the exam. Ivan Franko rose from the last, “donkey”, desks and said that he would recite the poem “The Cat ate bacon”. “And where do you know this poem?” the teacher asked. To which Franco replied: “I now re-read the book for reading for the fourth grade, there this poem is located.” The teacher told me to recite. And since he liked the recitation very much, he took Franco’s hand and translated it with the “donkey” on the first desk

When Franco was in third grade, during the lesson of Polish grammar with him, there was a nuisance. Reading a book in secret, he could not answer the question posed. In the same second, having received a slap, Franco moved from the first desk to the “donkeys”. Soon the school was checking. The commission visited the lesson of Polish grammar. When they had already interviewed all the students, they began to check the knowledge and those who sat on the last desk, the queue also reached Franco. He impressed the audience with a brilliant response that exceeded the requirements of the program. “How did you know about this?” the chairman of the commission asked in Polish. Franco sadly replied, also in Polish, that from one Polish book, which he borrowed from one of the students, and immediately showed it. The chairman of the commission examined the book. It cost 60 kreuzers. Then he took out money from his pocket, gave them to Franco, so that he bought himself the same book, and gave the borrowed one. Teachers also asked to transfer the boy with the “donkey” desks on the first.
