He also won the Irving Thalberg Award from the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1986. In 2004 he received the Guild of Directors Award of America for his achievements in life and the French Order of the Legion of Honor in recognition of his services. In 2005, he was included in the “Science Fiction Hall of Fame” in 2005.
Twice married, Steven Spielberg has a son from his first marriage with actress Amy Irving. From his current marriage with Kate Capshaw, he has five children and two adopted children.
